The Learning Academy Partnership (South West) is the admissions authority for all academies within our Trust.
Current Policies
The policies below detail the admission arrangements for our Academy and should be read in conjunction with the Primary and In Year Co-ordinated Schemes and other agreed policies of Devon Local Authority. All policies and procedures seek to comply with the requirements of the School Admissions Code.
There will be 19 reception places available in September 2021.
Come and visit us
If you are interested in your child attending our academy, you are welcome to come in and visit us. You can arrange a visit on 01548 560494 or by emailing admissions@lapsw.org. Our Admissions Officer will be able to discuss admissions with you.
Applying to come here
Once you decide you would like a place in reception or at any other time after this, you must make a formal application, which can be made online at www.devon.gov.uk/admissionsonline
For the Normal Round intake into our academy, children are offered places to start in Reception at the beginning of the September term after their fourth birthday. Children who are admitted to a vacancy at any time after this point are called ‘In-Year’ Admissions.
The Local Authority
Devon County Council publishes information about admissions and its own policies to support the admissions application and appeals process. This is at www.devon.gov.uk/admissions
The appeals process is detailed at www.devon.gov.uk/educationandfamilies/school-information/apply-for-a-school-place/school-appeals
For questions about your child joining the Academy or just about the admissions process in general, please don’t hesitate to contact the academy direct on 01548 560494 or by email at admissions@lapsw.org or contact Devon School Admissions Service on 0345 155 1019 or by email to admissions@devon.gov.uk.
Our Admissions Policies
You can find our admissions policies below – we review the academy policy annually and may make changes if we feel this would be in the best interests of the academy and our community. Each academic year has its own policy document, with details about how to apply for a place in our academy from the start of Reception through to Year 6.

Admissions Appeals
Learning Academy Partnership (South West) as admissions authority for All Saints’ Thurlestone C of E Academy must ensure that appeals lodged by the appropriate deadlines are heard within the following timescales:
The deadline for submitting appeals allows applicants at least 20 school days to prepare and submit a written appeal. The appeal must then be heard within 40 school days for the normal round and within 30 days for in-year admissions.
Any appeals submitted after the appropriate deadline must still be heard, in accordance with whatever timescale is set out in the timetable published by the admission authority.
We take part in the admissions schemes of Devon County Council which help parents to make applications for admission to school:
